The Panasonic VIERA TH-42PX80U is good 720p plasma TV. The contrast and picture quality is phenomenal. My only hesitation would be the 1024 x 768 resolution which is caused by the use of rectangular pixels and is the lowest of the 720p resolutions. That being said it does have a very nice picture and is a excellent TV for your average TV watcher and/or video game fanatic.

Panasonic make a phenomenal Plasma HDTV, only second to Pioneer’s top of the like Kuros and Elites. The Panasonic VIERA TH-50PX80U is a solid performer even at 720p producing incredible picture quality that rivals high-end 1080p LCD HDTVs.

This is an awesome big-screen gaming HDTV especially for those on a budget.

The Panasonic VIERA TH-50PZ800U is top of the line. With a 30,000:1 contrast ratio this plasma HDTV produces incredible blacks and beautiful color. If you are looking for a 1080p plasma put this at the top of your list.

Insignia is BestBuy’s house brand of HDTV, so the quality isn’t going to be the best, but the price is going to be about as low as you can go. Despite being a house-brand, Insignia NS-PDP50HD-09 reportedly has an excellent picture with everything else (sound, picture controls, inputs) being fairly basic. This would be a great HDTV for your average TV buyer that doesn’t need anything special besides a good picture. Also, this HDTV is great for video games (Xbox 360, Wii, PS3).

The Panasonic TH-46PZ80U is an great Plasma TV. Panasonic VIERAs are top of the line, second only to Pioneer’s pricey plasmas. Unless you’re holding out for a 1080p Plasma, this 720p Panasonic VIERA will get you the best picture for your dollar.

The Vizo VP422HDTV10A is a good budget plasma HDTV. It has decent contrast/color and handles fast-moving video games well. This HDTV would be great as a gaming HDTV for kids, a secondary HDTV or just a HDTV for someone looking for HDTV quality without breaking the bank.

Check out Panasonic’s 720p VIERA’s before buying this HDTV. If the Panasonic VIERA can be purchased for a similar price, get the Panasonic, it is a phenomenal plasma HDTV.

Vizio is the king of budget HDTVs though for their low prices they actually perform pretty well. This LCD HDTV is a great TV for kids, dorm rooms, bedrooms, etc. This set is 720p with the odd resolution of 1024 x 720, but at 32 inches it’ll be hard to notice.

The Samsung FP-T5084 is a excellent 1080p plasma HDTV producing very nice blacks, realistic color, and an incredibly smooth and fluid picture. This plasma HDTV sit right under the Panasonic VIERAs and Pioneers in terms of quality (aka the bottom of the top). This plasma will not disappoint.

The Samsung FP-T5084 plasma HDTV is an especially excellent choice for video games and Blu-ray movies.
