Toshiba XV545U (1080p @ 120hz LCD)
The Toshiba XV5454U line has the best HDTVs around. The XV545U’s combine simple elegance, an amazing picture, state of the art upconversion technology and a very reasonable price-point. This dark-horse HDTV from Toshiba is in my opinion the best HDTV on the market — and that’s why I bought one.

Samsung LNA650 (1080p @ 120Hz LCD)
The Samsung LNA650’s were the most popular HDTVs of 2008 and are well on their way to being the most popular of 2009. The LNA60’s have an amazing picture and feature set. The only real downside of the A650 series is the red touch-of-color, but that’s just a matter of personal preference.

Panasonic TH-PZ800U (1080p Plasma)
The Panasonic VIERA TH-PZ800U’s are some of the best Plasma HDTVs around. With a 30,000:1 contrast ratio these plasma HDTV produces incredible blacks and beautiful color. If you are looking for a Plasma put this at the top of your list.
The only better Plasmas out there are the Pioneer Kuros, but they’ll cost you a premium.

Samsung LNA550 (1080p @ 60Hz LCD)
The Samsung A550 line are my favorite 60hz LCD HDTV. The A550’s have an incredible picture, low motion blur and a very elegant look. If you’re in the market for a great, yet inexpensive HDTV, pick up a Samsung A550.
